Free Telegram Web Translator
This page explains what the extension does, what data it handles, and how that data is used when translating visible messages in Telegram Web.
What the extension does
Free Telegram Web Translator translates visible message text on
web.telegram.org into the target language selected by
the user. It shows the translation below the original message
inside the current chat.
Data the extension handles
The extension may access visible message text from the active Telegram Web chat when the user runs translation or enables auto-translate.
- Visible Telegram Web message text in the current chat
- The selected target language
- The auto-translate preference
How the data is used
Visible message text is sent to a translation endpoint in order to return translated text to the user. The extension uses that result only to display the translation inside Telegram Web.
Third-party services
The current version sends translation requests to Google
Translate's web endpoint at
https://translate.googleapis.com/.
The extension itself does not sell user data and is not designed to use message content for advertising, profiling, or unrelated tracking.
Storage and retention
The extension stores only basic settings through the browser's extension storage, such as the selected target language and whether auto-translate is enabled.
- No account is required
- No payment information is collected
- No message archive is intentionally stored by the extension
